Dutch Bros to Host Drink One for Dane Day on Friday, May 15

Dutch Bros will bring back its annual Drink One for Dane Day of Giving on Friday, May 15, continuing its long-running effort to support ALS research and honor co-founder Dane Boersma.

On the day of the event, the Dutch Bros Foundation and franchisees will donate $1 for every drink sold to support the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The initiative benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association and its ALS programs.

This year’s campaign is approaching a major milestone, with lifetime fundraising expected to surpass $20 million since the program began nearly two decades ago. Contributions have come from customers, franchisees, vendors, and the company itself.

“For nearly two decades, Drink One for Dane has held a meaningful place in the hearts of everyone at Dutch Bros and the Dutch Bros Foundation,” said Tana Davila, Chief Marketing Officer of Dutch Bros. She added that the program reflects the legacy of co-founder Dane Boersma and the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back.

Dutch Bros was founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma. Following Dane Boersma’s death from ALS in 2009, the company established Drink One for Dane to raise awareness and support research toward treatments and a cure.

Sharon Hesterlee, PhD, President and CEO of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, said the initiative continues to drive progress in ALS research and care while honoring Dane’s legacy.

Customers visiting Dutch Bros on May 15 will also receive a commemorative sticker with purchase while supplies last.
