MOC Vegan Kale Caesar Salad Recalled in Oregon Over Undeclared Sesame

Market of Choice has issued a recall for its MOC Vegan Kale Caesar Salad after discovering the product contains undeclared sesame, a major food allergen.

The recall affects 9.5-ounce packaged salads sold in clear clamshell containers with UPC 0 210126 01099 3. The impacted products carry expiration dates ranging from April 20, 2026, through May 8, 2026.

According to the company, the salads were sold across multiple Oregon locations, including stores in Ashland, Bend, Corvallis, Eugene, Hillsboro, Medford, Portland, and West Linn between April 16 and May 4, 2026.

Market of Choice said the issue was identified through internal review, which found sesame had been included in the recipe but not disclosed on the label. No illnesses have been reported so far.

Customers with sesame allergies or sensitivities are advised not to consume the product. The company recommends returning it to any Market of Choice location for a full refund or disposing of it safely.

The recall applies only to the kale Caesar salad product, and no other items sold by the chain are affected.

The company stated that it has removed the product from shelves and is reviewing its labeling procedures. The recall is being conducted in coordination with state and federal food safety agencies.

Sesame is one of the more recently recognized major allergens in packaged foods, and undeclared exposure can trigger serious or potentially life-threatening reactions in sensitive individuals.
