SPAM Launches SPAM Dog, a Hot Dog Made With SPAM

SPAM is stepping outside the can with a new foodservice item called the SPAM Dog, a hot dog-style product made with SPAM that will begin rolling out nationwide this summer.

The new item is positioned as a twist on the classic hot dog, combining two familiar American foods into a single roller grill offering aimed at restaurants, convenience stores, and stadiums. It is designed to be served hot and crispy, either in a bun or on its own, and topped with options ranging from ketchup and mustard to more adventurous choices like kimchi or pineapple jalapeño salsa.

The SPAM Dog made its debut at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago and is already appearing in select regional markets. Broader distribution is expected throughout the summer.

“It’s a fresh new take on a hot dog with the unmistakable flavor that SPAM fans know and love,” said Haley Eggum, brand manager for the SPAM brand.

The product is targeted at foodservice operators and is intended to expand roller grill offerings in locations such as convenience stores, arenas, and select retail partners.

Early availability includes Rutters convenience stores in the Northeast, CHS Field in Minnesota, LMCU Ballpark in Michigan, and select 7-Eleven and ABC stores in Hawaii, with additional locations expected to be added.
