Tropical Smoothie Cafe is giving the classic Fourth of July hot dog a frozen makeover with the debut of the new Smoothie Dog, a hot dog-shaped popsicle inspired by the chain's Bahama Mama Smoothie.
The limited-time creation is part of the brand's summer partnership with Banana Ball's Loco Beach Coconuts and will be available in limited quantities during pre-game festivities at VyStar Ballpark in Jacksonville, Florida, on July 2 and July 3.
Made to resemble a fully loaded hot dog, the Smoothie Dog features a Bahama Mama-flavored popsicle topped with strawberry syrup as "ketchup," pineapple syrup as "mustard," and muddled kiwi as "relish."
To celebrate the launch, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is also hosting what it calls the first-ever Smoothie Dog Eating Contest. During the July 2 game between the Loco Beach Coconuts and the Indianapolis Clowns, players will compete to eat the most Smoothie Dogs within a set time limit. The winner will receive free smoothies for a year and the title of inaugural Smoothie Dog Eating Contest champion.
The promotion is the latest activation in Tropical Smoothie Cafe's partnership with the Banana Ball team. Fans attending games throughout the season can also expect surprise giveaways, co-branded merchandise, player appearances, and beach-themed experiences.
Away from the ballpark, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is offering the limited-time Loco Beach Colada Smoothie at participating locations nationwide through October 6, 2026. Fans can also sample the Bahama Mama Smoothie at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe tiki bar during the Loco Beach Coconuts pre-game festivities.
