
Natural Grocers is celebrating its 71st anniversary with a three-day promotion that includes discounts on hundreds of products, free food, customer giveaways, and a sweepstakes with more than $184,000 in prizes.
The event runs Aug. 13 through Aug. 15 at the company's 174 stores across 22 states.
Customers can save up to 52% on more than 600 products during the anniversary event. Many of the discounts are available to members of the retailer's free {N}power rewards program.
"Our purpose remains the same," Raquel Isely, vice president of marketing for Natural Grocers, said in a statement. "This celebration is our way of thanking the customers, crew members and communities who have supported us throughout the years."
Free treats and customer giveaways

The anniversary celebration will include several in-store events.
On Aug. 13, stores will offer free snow cones from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
On Aug. 14, customers can enjoy a free barbecue featuring burgers and hot dogs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Stores will also hold hourly prize drawings throughout the day.
On Aug. 15, the first 50 customers at each store will receive a commemorative 71st anniversary keychain and a mystery discount coupon while supplies last. Free popcorn will also be available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Stores will remain open an extra 31 minutes that evening.
Sweepstakes includes Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
Customers can enter an in-store sweepstakes during the anniversary event for a chance to win one of more than 4,200 prizes valued at more than $184,000.
The grand prize is a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid valued at up to $45,000. Other prizes include a MacBook Pro, a Lomi composter, gift sets, an electric scooter, and hundreds of additional prizes provided by participating brands.
Natural Grocers is also running a separate contest that gives customers a chance to win a $500 gift card by finding hidden beach balls in the retailer's August health magazine and submitting an entry.
Donation to employee assistance fund
Natural Grocers said it will donate 1% of all sales on Aug. 13 to its Heroes in Aprons Fund, a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to eligible employees facing unexpected hardships.
