Welch’s Fruit Snacks Gives Parents a “Homework Pass” for Back-to-School Tasks

Welch’s Fruit Snacks is teaming up with Taskrabbit to help families save time during the busy back-to-school season.

The companies are offering parents a “Homework Pass” in the form of a Taskrabbit credit that can be used to hire local Taskers for back-to-school projects, such as organizing school supplies or setting up a snack area at home.

The offer begins Aug. 6 at 12 p.m. ET and is available to the first 1,000 households. Each redemption code is worth $150, with a limit of one per customer.

Parents say back-to-school preparation takes away from family time

The partnership comes after research commissioned by Welch’s Fruit Snacks found that many parents want more time with their children before the school year starts.

The survey, conducted by Talker Research, found that 77% of parents with school-aged children wish they had more time with their kids before classes begin. The research also found that many families start preparing for school nearly three weeks before the first day, with one in three parents saying summer feels finished once shopping and planning begin.

Danielle Dexter, senior director of integrated marketing and communications at PIM Brands, which makes Welch’s Fruit Snacks, said the goal of the program is to help families spend more time together before the school year gets underway.

Taskrabbit says organization requests increase during school season

Taskrabbit said demand for household organization and cleaning services rises during the back-to-school months. The company reported that both categories saw a 19% year-over-year increase from July through September.

Tamara Rosenthal, senior vice president of marketing at Taskrabbit, said the partnership is designed to help parents manage school preparation tasks while making more time for family activities.

Welch’s Fruit Snacks are available at retailers nationwide and are made with real whole fruit as the main ingredient. The company said its fruit snack products contain no artificial dyes.
