Wonderful Halos is partnering with children's entertainer Blippi for a back-to-school campaign that includes a national advertising campaign, in-store displays, live family events, and a contest.
The campaign launches as families prepare for the new school year and focuses on encouraging healthy snacking with Wonderful Halos mandarins.
A new commercial titled "Halos Save Lunch" features Blippi searching for the right lunchbox snack before choosing Wonderful Halos mandarins. The fruit is marketed as a sweet, seedless, easy-to-peel option that is sized for children's lunchboxes and hands. According to the company, one serving provides 50% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C.
"Blippi has become a trusted friend to so many families, and he embodies what Wonderful Halos stand for," Jennifer Hirano, vice president of marketing for The Wonderful Company, said in a statement.
Meet-and-greet events planned
The partnership will also include meet-and-greet events this fall where families can meet Blippi, take photos, and receive Wonderful Halos.
The scheduled events include:
- Sept. 25 at Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury, Massachusetts
- Oct. 3 at HarvestMoon Fun Farm in Masaryktown, Florida
Advance tickets will be required through Eventbrite. The company said ticket details will be announced closer to each event.
Contest offers trip to meet Blippi
Wonderful Halos is also launching the Sweetest Blippi Meet and Greet Contest.
Parents and legal guardians of children ages 3 to 10 can enter by submitting a statement of 100 words or less explaining why meeting Blippi would be meaningful to their family. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, relevance, and emotional impact.
The winner will be selected on Sept. 1 and notified on Sept. 3. The prize includes an all-expenses-paid trip to one of the meet-and-greet events.
In-store displays available through December
The partnership will also appear in grocery stores nationwide through December 2026. Produce departments will feature Blippi-themed displays and life-sized character standees promoting Wonderful Halos mandarins.
Wonderful Halos mandarins are sold year-round in 2-pound, 3-pound, and 5-pound bags at grocery stores, mass retailers, and warehouse clubs across the United States.
