Burger King Upgrades the Whopper for the First Time in Nearly 10 Years

Burger King is making changes to its signature Whopper sandwich, marking the first major update to the burger in almost a decade.

The company says the improvements were inspired by direct guest feedback.

The updated Whopper keeps its core build but comes with a few quality upgrades, including:

  • A new, more premium bun designed to taste better

  • Freshly cut onions and tomatoes

  • Crisp lettuce and tangy pickles

  • Better tasting mayo

  • Served in a box instead of a wrapper to help maintain quality

The burger still features more than a quarter pound of 100 percent flame grilled beef and remains free of artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.

According to Burger King President Tom Curtis, the goal was to elevate the iconic sandwich without reinventing it.

The changes focus on improving quality from the bun to the toppings to the packaging, while keeping the flame grilled flavor fans expect.

The upgraded Whopper is available now at participating locations nationwide.

Pricing may vary by location.
