Welch’s Adds Probiotics to Fruit Snacks With New Yogofruits Line


PIM Brands is expanding its Welch’s snack portfolio with the launch of Welch’s Probiotic Yogofruits, a new fruit-and-yogurt snack line that adds functional health benefits to the brand’s better-for-you offerings.

Set to hit nationwide retail shelves in June, the new snack combines fruit bite centers made with whole fruit, a creamy yogurt coating, and probiotics intended to support digestive health. Each serving delivers 2 billion probiotic cultures along with 3 grams of fiber.

The product is made without artificial dyes or flavors and is also gluten-free, non-GMO, peanut and tree-nut free, corn syrup free, and carries a Halal designation.

“With consumer demand for gut-friendly foods surging, probiotics and fiber have become breakout priorities in the snacking aisle,” said Lisa Eustic, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Snacks at PIM Brands.

She added that the company is combining its snack expertise with its background in supplements and pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing to create a more functional fruit snack option.

Welch’s Probiotic Yogofruits builds on recent changes across the company’s portfolio, including reformulated fruit snacks made without artificial dyes, as PIM Brands continues to position its products within the better-for-you snack category.
