Wendy’s is giving customers a simple way to support foster care this May. In recognition of National Foster Care Month, the chain is rolling out its Round Up for Adoption program at participating U.S. locations.
The idea is straightforward. When placing an order at the counter, customers can choose to round their total up to the nearest dollar. That small add-on goes toward helping children in foster care find permanent homes.
Funds raised through the campaign benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, a nonprofit tied to Wendy’s founder. The organization focuses on connecting children in foster care with adoptive families and has helped secure more than 16,000 adoptions across the United States.
According to the company, 93 percent of each round-up donation goes directly to the foundation. The program is available at select restaurants, so customers may want to check with their local Wendy’s to see if it’s participating.
The campaign arrives as more than 365,000 children and youth remain in foster care nationwide. Wendy’s says the effort brings together customers, crew members, and franchisees in a shared push to support adoption.
If you’re already stopping in for a Baconator or a Frosty, rounding up your total could be an easy extra step that makes a difference.
