PepsiCo Launches Alvalle Chilled Gazpacho in the U.S

PepsiCo has launched Alvalle gazpacho in the United States, bringing its refrigerated, ready-to-eat soup to shoppers looking for quick meal options made with simple ingredients.

The cold soup is now available at select Whole Foods Market stores. The launch is part of PepsiCo's effort to grow its refrigerated food business and expand beyond its traditional snack and beverage products.

A cold soup made with vegetables and olive oil

Alvalle is a Mediterranean-style gazpacho inspired by a traditional Spanish recipe. It is made with sun-ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and extra-virgin olive oil.

The soup is sold chilled and is ready to eat without preparation. PepsiCo says it can be enjoyed as a light meal, snack, or side dish.

"Alvalle meets a very real consumer need. People want food made from recognizable ingredients that fits into their everyday lives," said Pol Codina, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Food Ventures at PepsiCo.

Company sees growing demand for refrigerated foods

PepsiCo said the launch reflects growing consumer interest in refrigerated meal options and foods made with familiar ingredients. The company also pointed to increased demand for convenient foods that require little or no preparation.

"The way people eat continues to evolve, and we're seeing growing demand for foods that combine convenience, quality and great taste," said Marisa Perez, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Fresh Experiences Portfolio at PepsiCo Foods U.S.

Perez said the soup is designed to fit into everyday occasions, including weekday lunches, afternoon snacks, and casual gatherings.
