Bojangles has opened its first restaurant in the Phoenix metropolitan area with a new location in Gilbert, Arizona.
Located at 3765 S. Val Vista Drive, the restaurant opened at 5:00 a.m. today, bringing the chain's fried chicken, scratch-made biscuits, breakfast menu, and Southern sides to the Phoenix DMA for the first time.
To celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers received a $100 Bojangles gift card. The chain also held a sweepstakes where 10 opening day customers were entered for a chance to win free breakfast for a year.
The Gilbert opening marks Bojangles' latest move into a new market as the chain continues expanding beyond its traditional Southeastern footprint. Over the past year, the brand has opened restaurants in markets including Oklahoma City, Grand Rapids, Austin, Brooklyn, Piscataway, Las Vegas, Columbus, Baton Rouge, Morganville, as well as additional locations in Dallas and Houston.
Founded in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1977, Bojangles is best known for its hand-breaded fried chicken, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits, breakfast menu, Legendary Iced Tea, and Southern sides including Cajun Pintos, Dirty Rice, and Macaroni & Cheese.
